When you see the squiggles of a Chinese character, it is hard to imagine that in one small pictograph there is deep reflection on the spiritual aspect of life.  It took me years to begin to understand the depth of thought that must have gone into each one when they were first created.

Not all characters have deep meaning, since some were created later with parts that represent sound instead of meaning, but even in those, astounding thinkers could pick just the right one to give a hint of a deeper meaning to the character itself.

Sign up in the sidebar for the newsletter on Characters and the light they shed on important spiritual topics.
